Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Down in Richmond, VA this weekend and the local Z-lot next to my hotel has a Mitsubishi Expo LRV up on the ramps.

And in case you’re wondering, of course there’s a Daewoo Lanos on the lot.

Kinja'd!!!

But we need to enhance further to fully appreciate the Cadillac of Daewoos:

Is that Lanos a 2002 model?

They had a row of newer stuff, RAV4s and CRVs - but this back lot... Everything from the Lanos, to a Windstar, several Cavaliers, and  a C5 Vette.

A dealer around here had an SLX on the back lot. This was like a week ago, and I’m in central Georgia.

There was also a shop with a Nissan Stanza van a couple years ago.

Southern car lots are such a shock if you spent time in New England and Eastern Canada.   This stuff hasn’t existed there for 15 years...

Hardbodies even rust in the PNW. Nothing rusts in the PNW.

Now the PNW is a place of weirdly low mileage cars and time capsules.

Only in Washington state would there be a one-owner 1998 Chevy Cavalier Z24 with lengthy service records and 230,000 miles.

Very expensive to change cars there due to heavy taxes on change of registration (11% in Seattle area on sale price or Blue Book for private sales ) , plus a huge tax break on older cars for transit taxes mean people hang onto their cars a long time.
